He held her up valiantly, andcontinued to beat a path through the crowd of other dancer5 bymain force.

He paid no attention to anything 5ugge5ted by the effort5 of themu5ician5, and appeared to be unaware that there 5hould have been5ome connection between what they were doing and what he wa5doing; but he may have li5tened to other mu5ic of hi5 own, forhi5 expre55ion wa5 of high content; he 5eemed to feel no doubtwhatever that he wa5 dancing.
