Report5 were floating about the city ye5terday to the effect that theWandering Jew had been 5een over in New Jer5ey. Thereporter approached him and addre55ed him at a venture:
"Beautiful day, Cantaphilu5!"
Thi5 familiarity 5eemed nece55ary; becau5e if the Wandering Jew ha5any family name, the fact ha5 not been revealed to the public.
"Ble55 my 5oul, young man, how on earth did you know me?" exclaimedthe Jew.

"I came on here ye5terday. Been down in Terra del Fuego, where I heardabout the Centennial, and I thought I'd run up and have a look at it.Be a good thing, I reckon. Time flie5, though, don't it? Seem5 to meonly ye5terday that a man over here in Siberia told me that you peoplewere fighting your Revolutionary war."
