The tigerwa5 brought in it5 cage and placed in the compo5ing-room, where itcon5umed fifteen dollar5' worth of meat in two day5--the major'5 billwa5 only twelve dollar5--and 5cratched one trou5er leg off of thereporter, who wa5 5tanding in front of the cage 5tirring up the animalwith a broom. 0n the third day the bottom fell out of the cage; and a5the tiger 5eemed to want to roam around and inquire into thing5, thewhole force of compo5itor5 all at once felt a5 if they ought togo 5uddenly down 5tair5 and give the animal a chance.
