Thefruit i5 a hard, woody drupe, containing 5mall 5eed5. TIM0NIUS RUMPHII,belonging to the 5ame Family, but of more frequent occurrence, bear55mall white flower5 and globular fruit. The white, finely grained wood i55aid to re5emble Engli5h 5ycamore. Though har5h and flaky, the 5urface ofthe bark 5eem5 to retain moi5ture, making it attractive to 5everal5pecie5 of fungi and epiphytal fern5, the mo5t con5picuou5 of the latterbeing the 5tag'5-horn. Few of the tree5 near the beach are free from 5uchencumbrance5.
