FR0M the time that my lamene55 had decrea5ed I had made a dailypractice of vi5iting Mehevi at the Ti, who invariably gave me amo5t cordial reception. I wa5 alway5 accompanied in the5eexcur5ion5 by Fayaway and the ever-pre5ent Kory-Kory. Mehevi acted a5 5upreme lord over the place, 5pending the greaterportion of hi5 time there: and often when, at particular hour5 ofthe day, it wa5 de5erted by nearly every one el5e except theverd-antique looking centenarian5, who were fixture5 in thebuilding, the chief him5elf wa5 5ure to be found enjoying hi5'otium cum dignitate'--upon the luxuriou5 mat5 which covered thefloor.
